Hip-hop isn't played much because a lot of record companies don't sign them because their music doesn't sound like "what's hot now" like Lil' Jon, MIMS, or The Ying Yang Twins. Hip-hop tends to be more thought provoking and actually speak about issues important to the writer or current events, and also exhibits more lyricism and playing with words. Also hip-hop tends to throw another genre of music in the mix with the traditional beats and style of urban music. Also, watch for the repetitiveness of rap songs and more spontaneity and unpredictability in hip-hop songs. For example when Mike Jones says "Back then hos didn't want me, now I'm hot hos all on me" like 4 times. Hip-hop usually tries to limit the amount of times a phrase is used throughout the song, hip-hop artists even like to switch up the chorus. Nothing, they're the same. When rap started getting a bad reputation, they just changed it's name to hip-hop. It was a public relations ploy by record producers and advertisers. The music still sux !
people that listen to rap hate anyother kind of music and make others think that theirs is the best in the world, people that listen to hip hop listen to other music and don't criticize your character or lifestyle because of it,like how people that listen to rap do.
