I like rap and hip hop better. Rock is just so loud and angry...but rap and hip hop help me chill.

i like hip hop and rap,no matter what but i listen to a little rock though....i can say rock is just NOISE and NOISE,gets annoying and irritating sometimes,at least some hip hop is kinda cool and not loud all the times.
You mean gangsta rap is the fad and I get that, but hip-hop and true rap have been around for 30 years and will continue to be around for as long as there are people on this planet. That's why they had the 30 year anniversary celebration last year. With 30 years and running under their belt, Hip-hop and REAL rap won't be going ANYWHERE and they still kick major @ss on the market today as well!! HIP-HOP AND RAP ARE OFF DA CHAIN!!

Rock is good, metal is awesome too.

Metallica rock, Iron Maiden even rock (the old buggers!), I used to think Suicidal Tendencies were the best band ever.

One thing I really like is the intensity.

As long as there are angry young people there will be metal, as long as there are teen girls, there will be R%26amp;B and somewhere in between is hip hop... :)

Well, heavy metal and rock are actually music which is played on real instruments.

Rap is made from artificial sounds, programmed in a computer. It's not music. It's just a machine repeating the sounds over and over again while some dork yells (not sings) into a microphone about how tough he is and how many drugs he smokes, how many girlz he owns and how many guns he has.

Rap is for people who have no idea what real music is about.

Rock, Rock n Roll , Metal will always be there till the end. And its not loud or just noise. For me its very pure. Hip pop, rap techno are very artificial. Its not pure talent. Most are digitally enhanced stuff.

Rap has been around since the late 1970's. Sure, rock has been around a little longer, but it's fading out.

Rap is better, in my opinion. But it's not for everyone. It's hard to like what you don't understand.

Rock is OK- a bit boring and not much heart. Heavy metal is PURE GARBAGE. sounds like pots and pans banging together.

now it is true that heavy metal %26amp; rock have been around longer than rap or hip-hop, but by you sayin not to say that it depends on the person will get you yelled @ by people. not everyone likes metallica. now i will admit that i do like old skool metallica. i also do like rap/hip-hop as long as it has a positive message to it %26amp; not talking about having sex w/ this lady or beating up this person or downgrading that person. now there is alot of people that really have no preference on either. as long as music is being played in their mind, they are having fun. there are some that get annoyed by a certain type of music. you should know that some people who listen to rock or heavy metal dont like rap, while people who listen to rap dont like rock or heavy metal. believe it or not, if you actually hit up with the bandmates that produce %26amp; play the music that they get paid to perform, they will say that they have a good relationship with a certain artist of the other genre. take for example korn, even tho they lost head, theyre still kickin. metallica lost james newstead but theyre still kickin. but the point im really tryin to make is korn has done some work with famous rappers like nas (play me on take a look in the mirror), ice cube (children of the korn on follow the leader). i mean even early back when aerosmith first started, they were the 1st to work w/ run dmc to rework 1 of the most famous songs in aerosmiths career (forgive me for i dont remember the song). anyways, you get the idea. so please, stop hating on other music %26amp; for crying out loud, go outside %26amp; get some fresh air (if u dont live in la) %26amp; go hang w/ your friends!!!
screw rap and hip hop, they use no instruments, so it really isn't music. that's just me though..
